After college when you go on to grad school, you can go for a general psych degree (clinical psych) but it'll be more beneficial if you try to find a program more suited for therapy (e.g. counseling psychology or family therapy…... In order to practise legally as an art therapist/art psychotherapist (both titles are inter-changeable) in the UK, it is mandatory to complete a training validated by the Health and Care Professions Council . I read your piece on becoming an Art Therapist and just wanted to add that after you complete your Masters, if you proceed to become credentialed (which my job required) you will have to pay for 100 hours of ATR supervision post-graduation to apply for the ATR....
